FlixBus In May 2018, German bus company, FlixBus, opened its first connections in the United States, having already established its office in Los Angeles. Famed for its signature green buses, FlixBus is committed to offering affordable, comfortable and eco-friendly alternatives to travel. The company was founded in 2011, and is now one of the largest long-distance bus providers in Europe. FlixBus is represented by national branches, such as FlixBus Italia, FlixBus France and FlixBus Nordics.
All in all, the company has gone from an intercity bus start-up to Europe’s leading bus provider, and offers routes to over 1,200 destinations in over 20 countries.

The History of FlixBus

The History of FlixBus The company, now known as FlixBus, was founded in 2011 under the name GoBus in Munich, Germany. The operator took on its final name in early 2013 and, because of the long-distance bus liberalization, launched four daily connections in southern Germany in February of the same year.
Due to the high demand for a cheap travel alternative, the FlixBus network was able to quickly expand its stops and routes. By January 2015, FlixBus and its largest German competitor, MeinFernbus, announced their intention to merge. Initially, the companies operated under the brand “MeinFernbus FlixBus,” but in May 2016, they opted to use the easier to understand name “FlixBus.” In terms of the design of the buses, it was decided to use the signature green coloring of MeinFernbus to emphasize the ecological aspect of long-distance bus travel.
In the following months and years, FlixBus continued to grow. This is partly due to the development of new international markets as well as the acquisition of numerous competitors. In 2016, FlixBus took over all continental connections of the British bus company, megabus. That same year Postbus, an association of Deutsche Post and the automobile club ADAC was also taken over. With the founding of FlixTrain GmbH, Flixbus decided to try its hand at the rail market by distributing tickets for the German long-distance train startup Locomore as well as the Austrian WESTbahn
Today, Flixbus is present in more than 20 European countries, employs over 1000 people and welcomes around 40 million passengers a year – and the number is still growing.
In 2018, FlixBus looked beyond Europe, and made its first overseas expansion when a small team set up an office in Los Angeles. By May that year, the company opened its first routes throughout the southwestern region of the country, and plans to continue to expand its network throughout the USA.

They left me; driver literally drove by myself and another passenger. I had a ride scheduled from Sedona to Las Vegas. The bus literally drove by the two of us in Sedona. I was watching the bus tracke ... They left me; driver literally drove by myself and another passenger. I had a ride scheduled from Sedona to Las Vegas. The bus literally drove by the two of us in Sedona. I was watching the bus tracker on the app and he was just continuing on the route to Flagstaff. Fortunately I was able to hitch hike a ride to flagstaff and stop the bus in the parking lot and get on in flagstaff. I called customer service and they said they cant stop the bus or turn it around. This was on a Sunday night and I had to be at work monday morning. They refused to get me to Las Vegas that night, refused to get me a rental car, and refused to get me a hotel that night. They did offer to reschedule me on another bus... 6 days later! Flix bus= never again. Could have lost my job it wasn't for the kindness of a stranger helping me catch the bus.

The customer service reps are so nasty over the phone and unhelpful, the bus drivers are th ... I am one to complain as things happen but when you advertise on your website the FlixBus iconic pictures on the website and then show up with a generic white bus, this can be ap problem. My 1st bus to the location was the original FlixBus. This is incredibly frustrating. After speaking with the next FlixBus driver, I was notified that it's a FlixBus only parking lot and all some buses are contracted out meaning they can come in all shapes and sizes.. Great information now that I know. I try to contact the customer service line and the guy says he's just an advisor only and can't do anything. I'm really concerned for his position as it's pointless. Next step I ask to speak to a supervisor. He places me on hold and OF COURSE comes back and says there's no supervisor available. False advertising at it's finest. Hope they get what's coming to them. Will never take FlixBus or refer any friends to either. I told the guy that I was really unhappy and that I'd be putting a review in to warn others and he didn't have a care in the world. Pointless customer service!

Maybe Flixbus in Europe isn't as bad but I've taken 2 trips with them in the US and never will again. I was left stranded in Seattle for a full day after my ride was cancelled 2 hours late. For $14.99, they ended up costing me over $100 for a hotel room and days of my time.

The pick up location was in the china town which is very unsafe neighborhood. Driver doesn’t speak in English, I asked about toilet, he thought I was asking about the seat. I traveled with Flixbus for the first time on Nov 11 2019, at 22:45 from Rome to Milan. I sat on the corner back seat on the upper floor. Long story short, I was DESTROYED by bed bugs bites (see pi ... I traveled with Flixbus for the first time on Nov 11 2019, at 22:45 from Rome to Milan. I sat on the corner back seat on the upper floor. Long story short, I was DESTROYED by bed bugs bites (see pictures). The bugs bites gave me hitching and red skin for the next 2 weeks before and at 6 weeks I still have bumps and rough skin. It's awful! I contacted Flixbus through their website and they took ages to respond and did not want to take responsibility.

My husband and I recently took a trip to Europe. We prefer train as our primary mode of transportation but after an issue with one of our tickets, we decided last minute to try Flixbus despite the awful reviews it had. We both assumed most people review when they're mad/disappointed, so it was probably a little biased. Boy was I wrong! So very, very wrong. We arrived to our bus stop FORTY FIVE MINUTES EARLY because we were already at the departure train station. Since we'd never used a bus service before we wanted to be sure to be early and the first ones to check in (which starts 15 minutes before departure. We spoke to every bus driver, asking about how the buses work and verifying their destination wile trying to locate our bus). We asked our bus driver specifically if he was our bus driver. He didn't speak a word, he just rudely shook his head no and physically turned his back to us. Whatever.. I'm not that concerned with rude people so we went about our business. Our bus was scheduled to leave at 2:45 pm so by 2:30 we were quite concerned by the fact that our bus was not there yet so I called Flixbus. I was connected to a representative THIRTEEN MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE TIME and she (sounding very confused) told me the bus had already left because 90% of the passengers were on board. Excuse me, WHAT THE WHAT?! Not only did they leave early, we specifically asked the bus driver if it was him (twice! We also attempted to flag him down as he started to pull away- he rudely waved his hands at us while shaking his head no) and he lied to us. The lady on the phone did her best to help us but eventually said she'd have to send it up the chain and to call back in 15 minutes. So we did. I was connected with a different representative this time. He was polite and responsive at first but flat out lied to me multiple times and eventually became rude. (Just FYI, I always try to be polite even in stressful situations like this. Obviously it's not the representatives fault a
