Jefferson Lines As the second largest bus company for intercity travel founded in the US, Jefferson Lines operates bus trips all over the Midwest, covering 13 states and featuring hundreds of destinations, such as Minneapolis or Minnesota, where its headquarters is located. It also serves bus stops in Texas, North and South Dakota and many other states. Established in 1919, the bus company has steadily worked on its services in order to offer convenient and inexpensive bus travels. During the economic crisis around 2007, the entire bus service business was stuck in a serious slump and some bus companies shrunk into bankruptcy. In contrast, Jefferson Lines survived the crisis and even took over many bus routes from other competitors, continuing to increase its ridership ever since.
Currently Jefferson Lines offers bus connections across numerous states in over cities, covering even remote areas like small towns or villages where rail or air services are not available. Additionally, Jefferson Lines has launched 17 college bus connections in five states, serving bus stations directly on campus, which has brought huge convenience to students during holiday and back-to-uni seasons.
Insider-Tips: Jefferson Lines offers several types of discount. Early birds are rewarded at Jefferson Lines: Any passenger who books a ticket 7, 14 or 21 days ahead of departure will benefit from a generous discount of up to 50 % of the total price – no coupon needed. Secondly, families, children under the age of 11, college students, military veterans and seniors over 62 years of age benefit from attractive discounts. Jefferson Lines also provides passengers with a live-update bus tracker service to pass on precise information about the current location of the specific bus. Moreover, some buses are also equipped with unique features like DVD players and XM Radios, resulting in additional entertainment.

It is so filthy I was really afraid to use the bathroom which was missing half of the toilets. I travel by bus and it's really horrible that my home city has such a dirty run down depot. If the busline that operates there does not clean up the property maybe the mayor should look into it. This bus station is not what should be a greeting to travelers who come to Omaha by bus. There are no seats or even a cafe for traveler's but in that much filth who would want to eat there. It's a shame that nobody cares to clean it up. The old Greyhound terminal was clean and the staff was friendly and a traveler could feel safe and comfortable when they came through Omaha. No wonder there are so many people in Omaha taking the train or a plane to thier destinations, I don't think I will be taking the bus anymore from Omaha.

i agree its not clean and santitary, and people lay on floor

Jefferson Lines royally screwed up our departure in a half dozen ways - the station has no visuals for which buses have arrived or departed, and our bus departure number was only called for buses that were approaching the station. Bus drivers that came to our station did not call out our destination during the time our bus was supposed to have arrived, and several delayed arrivals were announced for our bus that was supposed to have arrived in a timely fashion. Upon inquiry with ticket staff, my travel companion and I were informed that our bus “had left”, we “should have asked the bus driver where he was going”, and “he would get us a bus out to Fargo with another group at no cost to us since we couldn’t read the ticket info correctly”. Here’s my beef - Jefferson lines needs to have clear communication from their hq to drivers - lists of riders, a clear visual of which cities are a part of destinations, as well as a visual of the bus departure number. To top it off, my travel companion also discovered our bus had never arrived to the station on their website, and no information on its whereabouts could be provided. Our ticket info was unclear, were deliberately deceived by staff, and the Greyhound station where we waited was in absolute shambles - trash everywhere, custodial staff showing up late to work, being told we virtually should have listened better for a bus that never arrived, but had left with our destination on its route, a lack of communication with missing riders. They can do better

Rude customer service. Canceled bus without informing me until at the bus station and I ended up stranded. Refused to refund me when they failed to provide service.

I booked 2 tickets for my teenagers to travel from Duluth MN to Minneapolis for a 6:45 am trip. It was below zero & there were 6 other people waiting for the bus in a unsheltered area for over a half hour. Not one of them received a notification that the bus had been cancelled. Is Jefferson such an incompetent & lazy company that they don’t have the means to text and/or email their customers when a route is cancelled? I would never use them again.
