Australia: COVID-19 Travel Updates
Domestic Travel
The Australian Government currently advises that Australians must avoid non-essential travel within the country. Several Australian states and territories have closed their borders and restricted inter-state travel therefore we recommend to check if there are any restrictions before departure. Most coach companies, such as Firefly Express or Greyhound have suspended their services until further notice.International Travel
Currently only Australian citizens, residents and immediate family members are permitted to travel to Australia. All travellers arriving in the country are required to self-isolate in a designated facility for 14 days in their port of arrival.
The nearby Lone Pine Sanctuary is the perfect place to meet a koala bear too. See all kinds of animals at the Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, which was founded by the famous Irwin family. Perhaps Australia’s most visited destination, the Great Barrier Reef is one of the wonders of the natural world. Travel along the Great Ocean Road for stunning coastal views and catch a glimpse of the 12 Apostles rock formations. Melbourne has consistently been voted one of the world’s most liveable cities and has a European flair with charming cobbled streets and cafes abound. You can even visit the Parliament of Australia for a guided tour in the capital city of Canberra. If you’re looking to traverse Australia’s vast Outback, then you must visit the famous sandstone monolith, Uluru, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once you've had enough adventure, and are looking to unwind and relax, then head over to the Gold Coast, and an expansive stretch of sandy beaches aptly named Surfer’s Paradise for some fun in the sun.
