We booked to travel from Paraty to São Paulo on 16 November. When the bus arrived I thought that this was an old bus compared with other journeys we had taken in Brazil. We sat behind the driver…he drove very safely, but slowly, especially up hills. It was clear that the old bus was at the end of its life and sure enough 5 hours or so into the journey the bus broke down…the gauge on the dashboard indicated overheating. Also on the dash was a message from the start of the journey “pare freios falha” translated to “brakes fail” and the fuel gauge was showing zero!!! So this bus was NEVER fit for the road. The driver told us that the company had arranged for a replacement bus to be sent from São Paulo. However four hours later another bus arrived half full of people, so it wasn’t a replacement, but just the next bus on route. On that bus the aircon was on full blast (it was freezing), the USB ports didn’t charge an iPhone and the toilet smell was a disgrace. Absolutely pathetic. They could have leased a bus from a nearby town, but oh no that would have cost money. In the end we arrived in São Paulo 12 hours after leaving!!’ So you decide if you want to travel with these amateurs!
