I recentl traveled with SVR Tours and Travels from Hyderabad to Shirdi (Bus: SVR 919) and returned via SVR 901A, along with a hotel booking. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had.
To begin with, the onward journey bus was not comfortable at all. The bedsheets had an unpleasant smell and did not feel clean. While I adjusted for the journey, things got worse upon reaching Shirdi.
The hotel accommodation provided (Sai Paradise) was extremely unhygienic. The rooms were infested with cockroaches — not just one room, but multiple rooms that we were shifted to. Even after repeated requests, every room had the same issue. The explanation given was that there is a kitchen in the building, which is unacceptable as a justification for such poor hygiene standards.
Later, we were moved to Sai Samrat. Although I had paid ₹1500 for an AC room, the AC was not functioning properly and there was no cooling even after setting it to 16°C. The room quality overall was not satisfactory.
Additionally, after vacating the room early and returning later, I requested a room just for 10 minutes to freshen up. Instead, I was given a recently vacated, unclean room, which was again disappointing and unhygienic.
The return journey was even worse. Although the bus initially seemed better, the driving was extremely rash and uncomfortable, with constant zigzag movements, which caused severe nausea. When my daughter started feeling sick, we requested the driver to stop the bus, but he refused. She was forced to vomit in a cover inside the bus. Even after that, when we requested a brief stop just to dispose of it and allow her to wash her mouth, the driver still did not stop, giving some unclear reason about the route. This left us in a very uncomfortable and distressing situation for the rest of the journey.
Overall, this entire trip was poorly managed — from transport to accommodation to basic hygiene and passenger care. I would strongly advise others
