Warsaw, the capital city of Poland, is situated on the banks of the Vistula River. The city’s most iconic building is the Palace of Culture and Science, a monumental skyscraper built during the communist regime as a gift from former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. The edifice is visible from almost every part of the city. During WW II, Warsaw was nearly completely destroyed but the city managed to rise from the ashes and to reinvent itself as a lively European metropolis, which never sleeps. When visiting the city you should take a stroll along Nowy Świat street towards the Royal Castle and the Old Town Square in order to see the monument of a mermaid, a famous landmark of the city. For those looking for some relaxing moments, a trip to Łazienki Park will certainly be a good idea. Museum lovers will enjoy their time visiting the Warsaw Uprising Museum, which documents the history of the Polish resistance of 1944. After a busy day, you can eat a delicious Polish pierogi in one of the city’s many restaurants or have some fun in the bars on Vistula Boulevard.

Thanks to a good location in the center of Poland, Warsaw is rather well connected with other cities. On CheckMyBus you can find the cheapest bus tickets to and from Warsaw, compare the bus schedules and choose the right trip for you.
