At first, we were picked up in Yishun by a bus that was in very good condition. However, when we were about to reach the Tuas Checkpoint, we were asked to transfer to another double-decker bus that was in much worse condition.
I was assigned a seat on the lower deck, which had a strong musty and mouldy smell. This bus company does not allow passengers to choose their seats; they assign them for you, and you simply have to hope you're lucky enough to get a seat on the upper deck.
To make matters worse, we left Yishun at 8:45am, and it is now 11:03am, yet we are still stuck at the Tuas Checkpoint. The journey has been terribly slow, and I am seriously wondering what time we will eventually arrive in Kuala Lumpur.
For the same fare of $42, I could have taken other bus services with much better buses and a more comfortable journey. Unless you have no other choice, I would not recommend choosing this express bus service.

So when we pass through the singapore checkpoint, the bus driver has told us that because our drop off point located at jurong east which only got two of us going there. We has been putting the location in the app and also told the bus driver before we reach the checkpoint, then the bus driver say he can only stop us by bugis as most of the passengers was dropping off by bugis, now i just want to know is it just because the drop off point too far apart then the bus driver has the right to just don’t dropping us at the location which we have already paid or u guys are able to refund us? not to mention about the bus driver also told us to take public transport which need to pay extra, this is very unprofessional and not responsible for this action. I will looking forward for u guys to give an explanation.

Extremely Unprofessional and Dishonest Company – Avoid CITYLINE at All Costs
On the 20th 2025, things got even worse. We reconfirmed with the company in the morning and were told we could switch to the Casa Del Rio Hotel pickup at 14:05, and they claimed the driver had been informed. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited. I had to quickly go to the toilet due to a stomach issue, and during those short minutes, the bus left BEFORE the scheduled time. The driver even refused to wait, despite my family telling him I would be right back. He drove away with my family and my passport on board!
We then contacted CITYLINE for help. They told us another bus might come at 15:25 but never told us the correct pickup location. We waited, called, and texted repeatedly, with no proper response. Later they only sent a message saying the bus had left. In the end we had to buy expensive last-minute tickets to return to Singapore because our children needed to attend school the next day. We reached home at 1:30 AM on the 21st.
After returning, we tried contacting the company for a refund, but:
• Phone: no response
• WhatsApp: ignored
• Their registered office address: fake / moved for over a year
• Busonlineticket (the platform we purchased from): initially replied but then blocked our emails
• The ticketing counter staff refused responsibility and gave us incorrect addresses
• Police had to be involved, and still no response from the company as promised
This is a dishonest, irresponsible, and poorly managed company. They show zero accountability and treat customers terribly. We lost a lot of time, money, and peace of mind — especially with children and elderly travelers involved.
🚫 DO NOT use CITYLINE.
🚫 Avoid BusOnlineTicket as well – they take your money but do not supervise the operators.
There are many reliable bus operators in Singapore/Malaysia — choose anyone else but CITYLINE.

Cityline is a disgrace and should be banned from operating if the Singaporean authorities have any consideration or respect for their tourist guests.
We (my wife and I) booked a coach Serangoon to Kuala Lumpur on 13 Jan 2025, departing 06:15. We were already concerned by the reviews we'd seen but I selected a point closest to the Tuas crossing to board and an early start that required a taxi journey to get there as it was before the MRT started.
We arrived around 05:45 and saw the bus drive past the bus stop where we were told to wait at about 05:55. It stopped in a no stopping area further down the road and we ran after it, managing to get the driver to let us on. He waited until about 06:05 and then, when he located the one other passenger - similarly confused by where the bus was supposed to be - he left at 06:05. Please bear in mind at this point there were only three of on a 21 seat coach.
He then proceeded to drive round Singapore for approximately two hours. Aside from the frighteningly bad driving - unauthorised U turns, passed at least two red lights that were full red, nit just amber - it was a meaningless journey. After an hour we arrived at Jurong East, itself a scene of utter bus chaos and he sat there for 15 minutes. Eventually, one further passenger was located and the total of four passengers then set out on another unplanned tour of Singapore.
Finally, two hours after getting on the bus we approached Tuas, which we realised was the exit point to the Causeway. At this point though, the bus stopped at a remote standard bus stop and we were told to get off the coach and 'another coach would arrive in 15-20 minutes' to take us to KL. Trust me, a semi-countryside bus stop with no cover at 7am in the morning in a sub-tropical location is not a pleasant place to sit and we were bitten, literally, to death.

1. Was not informed for reason that passengers were made to change bus at Yong Peng, and wasted around 1hr for waiting?
2. Again, another detour to Senai rest station were made to wait for more than 45 mins, later was seen driver handover a white box to 2 ladies and collected some money from them. ? Sideline.
Strongly suggested to consider other bus services as the 5 plus hrs journey were turned into 8 hrs from the above.

I wanted to share my recent experience with the Cityline bus service, as I encountered several issues that I think are important for you to be aware of.
Firstly, the bus was 20 minutes late without any prior notification. My friend and I were left waiting outside the Lavender Station, unsure of what was happening. When I tried to contact their number, they provided me with a coach number (VMH6450), but upon arrival, the bus had a different name and company sticker, which was quite confusing.
After crossing the Singapore-Malaysia border, we had to board another bus, which also did not have the Cityline branding. This made it very difficult to identify the correct bus, as there were many options in the parking area.
Additionally, our booking was for a single-level bus, but the one we ended up on was a double-decker. The seating arrangement was also not followed that is the reason we book due to seat configuration due to motion sickness. My seat should be at left row with no seatmate. now i was in the back on the bus which is very bumpy.
Overall, I would rate my experience with Cityline as a 2 out of 10. I would strongly recommend considering alternative bus companies, such as KKKL or Aeroline, which I've heard are among the top providers in the region.

The driver is very rude and unprofessional. We got stranded and soaked in the rain because our bus has some issues and we were advised to disembark. The driver without feeling sorry and being rude tell us to go out and get our luggages without explaining what’s the problem beforehand. Then we waited fro almost 2 hours without assurance when will the next or new bus will fetch us. Every time we follow up, the driver get mad. How rude!
