Horrible experience - You'll get stuck in the Highway, & cust. service declines everything & hurries you off the phones.
For Your Safety, Please go with the other coach companies, Megabus will break down in the middle of Snow storm, and then when you call the customer service, they will find every excuse in the books to decline you. Terrible bus experience and customer service experience.
I was on a Mega Bus From Toronto Union Station to Ottawa On Dec. 26 2025. The Bus probably had no snow tires, it got stuck in Scarborough, we had to get Toronto Police big rigs to help us unstuck from the snow. There was no communications, and then it got stuck again in the 401, with no communication. Some people got off at Scarborough, because if the bus is sliding and getting stuck in the city, imagine when you're in the Boonies of the 401. The bus Arrived hours late to every destination. And then You call the Mega Bus toll free number, and they Look for every reason to decline you any kind of compensation or coupons. Very Cheap and unorganized company, Please for your own safety, avoid Mega Bus, go with the other providers. While we were stuck and sliding off road, there were other Coach buses passing us and they were well equipped with proper tires.

Firstly, I had booked a reserved seat on a double-decker bus that seated me at a table that accommodates four people. It was more spacious and less claustrophobic, and often two of the seats are left vacant. The bus we took had no seats corresponding to my number, and was a single-level bus. It was very crowded and uncomfortable. This is not what I had booked and paid for.
Secondly, as we arrived at the station in Montreal the driver announced that there was a taxi waiting for anyone who needed it. The driver was "his good friend" and would provide a good service. The taxi driver was waiting at the side of the bus where our luggage was being unloaded. I asked the bus driver how to get the bus to the Montreal airport. The taxi driver answered for him, saying (dishonestly) that I had missed the last bus. I had not missed the bus and eventually caught it to the airport. Megabus drivers should not be colluding with local taxi drivers to scam paying customers. Very unprofessional indeed.

I recently had an appalling experience with Megabus, and I feel obligated to warn others. On December 27th, my daughter and two other passengers were stranded at Pearson Airport Terminal 3 (C8) because the bus failed to stop at the designated location. Despite arriving over an hour early and waiting in the correct spot, the bus left from an entirely different area (C2), leaving them no chance to board.
When one passenger called customer service, they were told they had missed the bus—even though the fault clearly lay with the driver or Megabus’s operations. My daughter had to take an $82 cab to Union Station and purchase a $200 train ticket just to get back to Kingston in time for work.
The total financial loss was $363. Megabus's resolution? A redemption code for a future trip, instead of a refund. This is a slap in the face, especially when the mistake was entirely their fault. Their refusal to issue a refund, despite admitting their error, shows a complete lack of accountability and care for their customers.
If you value reliable transportation and good customer service, look elsewhere. Megabus failed to deliver on its promises and left my family stressed, frustrated, and out hundreds of dollars. I will never use their service again and strongly discourage others from doing so.
